Pretoria's Wonderboom Airport to Cape Town

Due to the high volumes of passengers with bicycles expected for the Cape Argus Cycle tour, bicycles will need to be sent as cargo.

Airlink airlines will levy a handling fee of ZAR350(incl of VAT) for bicycles carried by participants in the Cape Cycle tour.

Please note the charges will be levied per bicycle per one way on the PRY-CPT-PRY route only.

The handling fee of Bicycles for the PRY-CPT-PRY route exists outside of Airlinks standard checked baggage policy.

Customers may drop off their bicycles between 27 February and 09March 2017 at the Wonderboom Cargo office to be transported to Cape Town. Please ensure you have proof of identification (ID book, passport or drivers licence), and flight booking information and race entry information which will be required when dropping off ones bicycle.

• On the day of arrival in CPT, cargo will arrange for a pick-up point in the passenger terminal with the necessary temporary signage.
• A standard fee of R350.00 (incl) will apply per bicycle per sector.
• In PRY signs will be put in place in the passenger terminal to direct passengers to the cargo building for handing in of bicycles.
• Forms of payment: Credit cards and Debit cards
• All bicycles need to be handed in ready for transport in a protective bag or case.
• On acceptance a flight date, flight number and ticket number or reference will be required to be entered into the handling information field on the waybill.
• For the flights outbound from CPT after the Cape Argus Tour Cargo will arrange for an acceptance point near the check-in counters.
• All waybills and tax invoices will be emailed to the passenger. No paper waybills will be issued. A small receipt (from a standard duplicate receipt book) containing the waybill number will be given to the passenger as reference.

To ensure bicycles are delivered in perfect condition, customers should familiarise themselves with the following packing procedures:

→ Bicycles to be placed in a bicycle box/or bicycle bag and to be marked with your contact details
→ The seat must be fully lowered
→ The handlebars to be turned parallel to the frame
→ Remove or turn the pedals inwards
→ Remove all electric parts(speedometers) and place in your carry-on bag
→ Ensure the air is let out of the tyres
→ Spare wheels to be properly packed
→ The number of cartridges of pumps with non-flamable division2.2 CO2 allowed per passenger (typically 2) - they are considered to be dangerous. They may only be taken as hand luggage, and if you try check them in or get them in the cargo with you bicycle, they will be confiscated.
