airlink looks set to get botswana stake

november 2006

Rodger Foster, MD and CEO of Airlink has confirmed to TNN that Airlink has been selected by the Botswana government as its preferred bidder in the privatisation of Air Botswana. Foster stressed that no final deal has been struck and the process will now continue with direct dialogue between the Botswana government and Airlink. He said that if a deal eventuates from the process, the Botswana airline could become a follow-on, modelled after the Swaziland Airlink model, which, he said has been a great success, especially for the Swaziland government. "It's a good model and if we can replicate it (in Botswana), it'll be a success," he said. The government of Botswana has declared its intention to accomplish the privatisation of the airline by the end of November.
