Gardener/Cleaner

REPORTS TO: BRANCH MANAGER/SUPERVISOR
DIVISION: SKUKUZA BRANCH
LOCATION: SKUKUZA

PURPOSE
To ensure that the airport gardens and public areas are maintained. To ensure  that the inside and outside of the terminal building is always presentable and of a high standard. To ensure that the work area, airport and company aircraft are clean at all times by carrying out cleaning duties effectively.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
2.1    The minimum education requirement is a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
2.2    Must have customer services skills.
2.3    Must have gardening and Cleaning Skills
2.4    Must be literate, numeric and have good comprehension of English.
2.5    Must be willing to work shifts.
2.6    Must have a valid Driver’s License.
2.7    Will attend training as and when required to do so.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
3.1    The employee shall be accountable for ensuring operations are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations and standards of the Operator and within the confines of the AOC and relevant operational specifications.
3.2    Responsible for the OHS in their area of responsibility and accountability reporting into this role.
3.3    Accountable for the management of safety risks and security threats to aircraft operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
4.1    Maintenance and upkeep of the gardens, terminal building and parking area.
4.2    Assistance with refuse recycling and disposal from terminal building and parking area bins. 
4.3    Assistance with the maintenance and upkeep of water features and irrigation.
4.4    To ensure that all toilets are clean and tidy at all times.
4.5    Making Tea and Coffee for visitors
4.6    To ensure that the garden implements kept clean, maintained and controlled.
4.7    Carrying out cleaning duties and washing of windows
4.8    Cleaning of entrance doors and all general access points of airport.
4.9    Emptying and cleaning of dustbins on a regular basis.
4.10    Will assist with operational non cleaning tasks upon the request of the branch Airport manager when need be, to ensure the continued smooth operation of the airport.
4.11    Cleaning of aircrafts interiors  and removal of dustbin bags and dirt from the aircraft before departing on next flight
4.12    Cleaning of Airport terminal building inside including removal of all litter and all wooden decks. 
4.13    To ensure that the main entrance and pathway is free from litter, leaves and bat droppings, as well at the cleanliness of the Rhino display
4.14    Will attend training as and when instructed to do so.
4.15    Responsibilities must be carried out in accordance with Company Standards as laid out in the manuals of procedure, and Occupational Health and Safety Standards.
4.16    Will assist with any additional tasks within the context of the job description.
