Important Customer Notice: Delays expected at OR Tambo Immigration.
Airlink customers travelling through OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg are advised to allow for additional processing times at immigration points for both departing and arriving flights. This is as a result of the new Biometric Movement Control System (BMCS) implemented by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) and Border Management Agency (BMA) at immigration and emigration areas, which is currently experiencing delays, resulting in longer queues during peak times. This may also affect international arrivals, baggage collection, and potentially lead to missed connecting flights. We recommend that travellers proceed to the immigration area immediately after check in to minimise lengthy waiting times. We apologise for any inconvenience that may be experienced.

Important Flight Notice
All international customers are urged to book one (1) single ticket with through-fares, as opposed to booking separate tickets to avoid flight delays. Please note that it is essential to read the fare rules.

Airlink to connect Durban and Harare with direct flights
Airlink, Southern Africa’s premier airline, will launch scheduled direct services between Durban and Harare from 05 April 2022.
The direct flights on the route will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Flights from Durban’s King Shaka International Airport depart at 10.30, landing at 12.40 at Harare’s Robert Mugabe International Airport. The return service leaves from Harare at 13.20, touching down in Durban at 15.35. Travel time is approximately 2hrs 10 min.
“Harare and Durban are important commercial centres and key Airlink markets. This brand new route linking the two cities will be our third direct service to Zimbabwe’s capital, along with our flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town. We are certain that the new service will promote commerce and tourism between the cities and between the KwaZulu-Natal and Zimbabwe. Having non-stop flights on the route means greater convenience and options for travellers who want to save time and avoid connecting at Johannesburg,” said Airlink CEO and Managing Director, Rodger Foster.
Airlink will operate one of it's modern Embraer ERJ135 Regional Jet on the route. Fares include a 20kg free economy class checked-in luggage allowance plus a 15kg sporting equipment allowance. Onboard, customers are treated to a complimentary light meal, refreshments. Our cabins are designed for comfort with generous leg room and a choice of aisle or window seats – Airlink aircraft do not have middle seats.
Airlink flights are scheduled to provide convenient connections with our other domestic and regional services as well as with long-haul flights provided by our constellation of global airline partners.

COVID-19 Health and Safety onboard Airlink flights
The health and safety of our customers and employees are Airlink’s primary concern. Airlink’s aircraft are equipped with High Efficiency Particulate Air Filters (HEPA), which effectively block 99.97% of particulates, including Coronavirus molecules. These HEPA filters continually sterilize the air in our cabins, which is renewed entirely every three minutes. Read more about the cabin air quality on Airlink’s Embraer Regional Jets here .
